Positive: If I could give this place 11 out of 10, I absolutely would. If you’re looking for a truly authentic experience, to connect with nature and switch off from the world, this is the place to be. Ignore the low ratings, they likely come from travelers expecting a shopping mall next door or lightning-fast internet. What touched me most was the effort the staff put into keeping the beach pristine and free of plastic. Last year, before this resort was built, I visited this same beach and found it sadly covered in rubbish. Today, it has become the cleanest beach I’ve seen in Indonesia in my five years of living here... and that’s no exaggeration. I sincerely hope the staff continue these efforts, because they’re one of the resort’s best selling points. Azana Essence it's trully a hidden gem. Apart from the gorgeous beach, you can enjoy hikes in the Tunak national park, which is filled with a lot of beautiful butterflies. As far as I know, they do offer pick-up and transport services, but having a motorbike makes it much easier to explore the surrounding area. Without a doubt, we’ll be back again.
